Improving crop sustainability and fruit quality through integrated analyses along the food chain
Anne-Laure Fanciullino, is a researcher in ecophysiology and biochemistry at The Research Institute on Horticulture and Seeds, INRAE, Angers.
Since 2008 she held positions at INRAE working on Citrus plants in Corsica (2008-2012), on Solanaceae in Avignon (2012-2021), and now on Malus domestica fruits.
Her work is focussed on secondary metabolites (mainly carotenoids and phenolic compounds) and on the regulation of their accumulation in fruits under environmental stresses. She develops projects addressing the following questions: how fruits accumulate secondary metabolites during their development? Which are the major regulatory processes? How does the environment affect these processes? She develops an interdisciplinary strategy to tackle these questions combining biochemistry, ecophysiology, and epigenetics.
